Step 1
Before you begin entering rules at random it make sense to consider a
theme or topic on which to base your system. Here are but a few examples:
Best API horse |
Last start winners |
Top Ranked Horses |
Highly weighted horses |
Track Specialists |
Wet track runners |
TAB No1 saddlecloth |
Last start beaten favourites |
Step 2
Once you have developed a theme, commence with an empty system and
consider carefully the race rules you are about to include and whether
they relate to the system as a whole. Consider factors such as where a
3200m Open Hcp race may be suitable for one theme, a 1000m 2YO Set Weight
race may not. You may at this point determine that you want to eliminate
any race that has one or more runners starting for the first time in a
race, or eliminate the heavy tracks. It is most important to consider the
race rules as you will discover that when used in conjunction with
something known as the RPD (Race Profile Database) will substantially
speed up your analysis.
