| A Complete Approach to Punting Success
Research & Develop Your Own Selection Systems
The GTX System Developer (an add-on to the base GTX program) is the most exciting and powerful research tool ever made available to the public! Never before has it been so easy to uncover the truth about a wide range of racing factors and their importance in selecting winners.
With the GTX System Developer you can research and analyse historical data across hundreds of different variables, all with the click of a mouse. You can test theories, develop rule based selection systems, fine-tune rating formulas, analyse the performance of jockeys, trainers, sires and more.
|
|
In the past, system creators have been limited to using basic form factors like finishing positions, margins, barriers, weight, fitness, pre-post prices etc. With GTX though you now have the ability to use a full range of TRB ratings as well as many other factors that are impossible to capture through manual analysis. It opens up a whole new world of profit possibilities using a selection system as your starting point!
|
|
| |
You can run your systems over past data to produce complete strike rate and profitability reports for the win and place, including longest losing sequences and bank draw down. You can even export the data for use in other programs like Microsoft Excel. Save as many individual systems as you wish and with the click of a button run them over today's races to generate the list of selections.
Discover Profitable Handicapping Secrets
The GTX System Developer also gives you the power to uncover profitable handicapping information that has been a well kept secret by professionals for many years.
For example... |
- Which Metropolitan trainer has the magical touch with 2 year-olds, producing an 18% profit from backing every runner?
- Who are the high profile trainers that rarely train a first up winner, despite having many fancied runners? Who are the noted first up trainers that consistently produce a profit from every runner?
- What form and rating factors identify false favourites with consistent accuracy?
- What jockeys do certain trainers use when their horses are most likely to win, or not win? There are dozens of trainer / jockey combinations that continue to produce big profits!
|
The answer to these questions and discovering many more profit making angles lies in intelligent use of the System Developer. The potential is bound only by your imagination!
Put It All Together Into A Winning Selection Process!
The scope of information and features in GTX means that there are a number of ways you can use it to develop a winning selection process. Of all the GTX Users that make consistent profits from racing, we can say with certainty that no two of them use GTX in exactly the same way.

1. Detailed Form & Ratings Analysis
This is the traditional approach used by most serious form students and professional punters. Each race is treated as a unique event and the form of each horse is studied in conjunction with the conditions of the race before a final assessment is made on the winning chances.
|
|
Factors such as class, form, fitness, weight, distance, track condition, barriers, jockeys, running style and the expected pace are all considered as part of the analysis. By using numerical ratings as the basis of your assessment you can assign a value for the impact of relevant factors and use the final ratings to produce your own assessed odds for each runner. This is an invaluable tool to help decide which races you should target for betting and which you should leave alone.
This type of approach requires a degree of racing knowledge, skill as well as time & effort from the punter, but is arguably one of the most effective. Some of the articles on our web site will help increase your racing knowledge to study various form factors. 2. Selection Systems
The ground-breaking power of the GTX System Developer (additional to the base GTX program) allows you to research and develop your own selection systems. No longer are you hampered by a limited range of factors that realistically have no profit potential. The System Developer allows you to analyse hundreds of different race, horse, form, statistical and rating parameters across thousands of past races. With the benefit of strike rate & profitability reports you can refine your analysis into a concise selection process to apply to future races.
Many punters prefer to rely on mechanical rules for their betting decisions as it ensures consistency and discipline in their approach. It also has the benefit of saving you considerable time. We have a number of users who continue to report good profits from systems they have developed in GTX, particularly those that use some of the expert ratings available.

3. Combination Selection Models (recommended)
A Combination Selection Model is an approach that uses a mechanical system to provide a list of possible bets, which you then subject to further filtering and analysis to determine the best opportunities. We recommend that to maximise your betting profits you adopt a Combined Selection Model, rather than rely purely on a mechanical system.
Combined Selection Models provide you with a consistent and disciplined approach in the same way as a mechanical system, but they also contain two significant benefits that systems cannot provide:
1. Control over the decision-making on when you actually bet. This is extremely important to your long term punting success and particularly the ability to deal with losing runs when they inevitably arise.
2. The ability to incorporate simple yet powerful selection factors that cannot be expressed in fixed rules (see below). These factors will dramatically increase your profits!
Combined Selection Models are an extremely effective way to make money in today's betting environment. They allow you to apply the power and consistency of well researched systems, with the profit enhancing ability of intelligent decision making... all while saving time & effort compared to traditional form study approaches. |
TRB's 3 "Profit-Boosting" Selection Filters
Add these simple filters to a well researched system and you immediately have a Combined Selection Model with the potential to create a consistent income from racing:
1. Avoid horses that get back in running: Focus on selections you expect will race on or just off the pace (1st to 4th in running). Statistically these runners have a massive strike rate and profit advantage in racing. A quick check of a horse's previous in-run positions will give you a feel for where it is likely to be in today's race.
Our article The Importance Of Early Pace will help you understand more about this critical factor.
2. Avoid poor jockeys: Jockeys are greatly underestimated by the average punter as an aspect of selection success. Good jockeys are an advantage and inferior jockeys are a significant disadvantage. Eliminate those selections that are ridden by jockeys with a poor performance record and your profit will improve dramatically.
You may like to read our article Does the Jockey really matter? for more information. Each week we also provide up to date performance statistics on jockeys including our list of TRB Top Jockeys. CLICK HERE to read more.
3. Focus on runners less than $10 in the market: Forget everything you have ever read about how wrong it is to back favoured runners. The further away your selection zone is from the top end of the market, the greater the disadvantage you must overcome to show a profit.
For example, backing all Metropolitan runners that start up to $5 in the market gives you a starting point of as little as -5% on turnover, depending on the dividends you obtain. Runners priced more than $10 in the market have a starting point of a massive 35% loss. Longer priced runners also result in significantly longer losing periods, which are practically impossible to survive from both a financial and psychological perspective. |

Create Your Own Printouts
If you bet away from your computer then that's no problem. You can create your own printouts in GTX for different purposes and include as little or as much detail as you want. Print an overview of each race with the fields, jockeys, ratings and prices, or an entire form-guide for the meeting. The choice is yours so you can attend the track or TAB with exactly the information you need. |
Up to the Minute TAB Prices and Betting
If you do bet with access to your computer, then TRB's use of the latest web technology means you can display live and continually updated TAB prices for all races within in your GTX program.
With the GTX betting module you can bet directly into any TAB you have an account with. One-out win bets, dutch betting and savers...you simply tell GTX what you want to do and it does the rest. You can even wait until the final seconds, have GTX select the best price and then automatically place the bets for you!
